Kosta Legal has successfully completed an HR audit in a Tashkent-based representative office of one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical conglomerates, employing more than 50 local specialists.
Our services included the identification of client’s HR practices that were not compliant with the requirements of Uzbek labour legislation, provision of recommendations to eliminate found infringements as well as the development of internal HR documents, including anti-bribery policies, that would satisfy the client’s business needs and would ensure compliance with its intra-corporate rules and Uzbek law. It is noteworthy that many relevant requirements of Uzbek law are contained in minor ministerial or sub-ministerial regulations and are usually unknown to the wider public and often neglected by companies to their own detriment. Specifics of the pharmaceutical industry and the relevant legislation, regulating, for example, the matter of engaging healthcare professionals for part-time work or consultations, had also to be taken into account for performing the task.
Our client was a representative office of a French multinational pharmaceutical company headquartered in Paris, France, being the world's fifth-largest by prescription sales with more than 110,000 employees around the globe.
