Lawyers from Kosta Legal have provided their legal assistance to a Russian lender at the initial stage of financing the construction of a huge industrial facility in Uzbekistan aimed at producing construction materials.
The project is financed through two Uzbek banks, which channel the funds received from the lender to a project SPV. The local financing is structured as syndicated lending. Relevant risks are insured by a specialised foreign agency.
Our firm was engaged by the client as its local counsel to assist in drafting all Uzbek law–governed documents, including the loan agreement, security documents and EPC contracts. We have also advised on the overall structure of the project and assisted with the CP satisfaction.
Our client was a Russian financial and industrial group implementing a series of large-scale projects in the Central Asian region.
