Kosta Legal has successfully resolved a number of legal issues related to real estate assets for a dynamic US non-commercial organisation.
First, a dispute of the organisation with its contractor about the construction of a new educational facility has been resolved and a settlement has been reached. Additional costs that had been included by the contractor into the construction budget documentation without getting preliminary approval of the organisation have been carved out, while the term of the construction has been effectively shortened for the benefit of the organisation.
Second, a dispute with the state land registrar has been resolved. The state agency mistakenly issued several sets of cadastral documents for the same property, exposing the client to additional taxation and substantial fines for its unauthorised possession of land. After much negotiation and requests to re-examine the land plot, the registrar has recognised its mistake and agreed to reissue title documents to resolve the problem.
